During the Tanabata summertime festival, also known as the Star Festival, a stray cat wandered into a pottery studio in Mino, Japan. The potters named her Shichita and with her friends they became the beloved studio-cats and subjects of this decorative serving plate. This Mino ware ceramic dish is crafted in Japan in the traditional ‘sometsuke’ blue and white colours. Use for serving starters and small plates.
